Jack Nolan selected for England

Reading Academy starlet, Jack Nolan, has recently featured for England in the U17 Algarve tournament.  Jack was selected off the back of a string of strong performances for both club and country and faced the likes of Germany and Holland.  With a 1 – 1 draw against Germany and 2 – 0 victory over Holland, […]

Holiday programme a huge success

Having recently announced a string of dates for our 2018 Holiday programme, our first intensive course (held at St George during the February half term) was a huge success.  Our new course syllabus covered all aspects of the game and enabled players to refine areas of weakness.  Future holiday courses can already be booked and […]

Recent games

Over the past few weeks, the ETC has played a string of Academy games, at various ages, against Portsmouth Football Club and Southampton Football Club.  These games have played host to over 50 ETC players and have been a fantastic learning experience for them, with Academy interest subsequently shown in many.  With further games scheduled […]

Mickey becomes a scholar

Huge congratulations to Mikey Saunders on achieving a scholarship at Southampton FC.  Mikey attended ETC sessions during his time at Fulham FC and in the off season, and was one of only a handful of players selected to attended our position specific workshops with Steve Guppy.  Mikey also starred in an ETC fixture vs the Saints […]

Interventions introduced

With additional coaches now on board, the ETC has started to introduce targeted interventions at our High Performance centres.  These interventions allow players to focus on aspects of the game identified as personal areas of address.

Ricky joins the team

The ETC is delighted to welcome a new member to our coaching team.  Southampton FC Academy coach, Ricky Fernandez, joins us at our Wednesday centre and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass on to our young players.  Welcome to the team Ricky!

Developing coaches

Over the past few months, the ETC has begun work to develop the next generation of coaches.  It is great to be working with such passionate students of the game and to have them present to observe and work alongside the coaching team.

U7’s travel to Staplewood

Our HP Under 7’s visited Staplewood last weekend.  This unique experience came off the past of numerous past visits and provided a fantastic opportunity for our players to experience Academy football at one of the best grounds in the Country.  Some top football was on show with plenty of goals.  Well done to all involved!
